Clean energy expert joins Maine Conservation Alliance/Voters staff
Kathleen Meil is joining the staff of Maine Conservation Alliance/Maine Conservation Voters, starting January 22, to manage the Environmental Priorities Coalition and the Clean Energy for All program.

Meil joins the MCA/MCV team at an important time for Maine's environmental future. Maine Governor Janet Mills has made climate change a centerpiece of her new administration, and strong conservation leadership is expected in the Maine House and Senate. At the same time, the Environmental Priorities Coalition is implementing a new strategic direction plan, prioritizing climate change.

Meil holds an M.Ed. from Lesley University and a B.A. from Kenyon College. She has experience as a clean energy policy advocate, candidate for public office, teacher, and small business worker. At the Acadia Center she developed the Community|EnergyVision Action Guide, advanced regional transportation climate policies, and advocated for rural environmental health. Previously, she communicated the power of energy efficiency as Marketing Manager at Maine’s largest home performance contractor.

According to Maureen Drouin, executive director of MCA/MCV, "Throughout her career, Kathleen has maintained a strong commitment to building healthy communities that are environmentally friendly and economically strong."
