Trump cuts to national parks would be devastating
According to an analysis of cuts to non-defense programs contemplated by the Trump Administration, "A 13 percent across the board cut to the National Park Service would put more than 1,000 seasonal ranger positions on the chopping block—crippling the agency’s ability to meet the needs of millions of visitors, protect our nation’s most significant natural resources or address the agency’s $12 billion deferred maintenance backlog."

Senator Patrick Leahy, vice chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, calls these and other proposed budget cuts "draconian" and not sustainable.
