Volk tapped by Republicans as assistant majority leader in Maine Senate
Scarborough Republican Amy Volk has been elected by her fellow GOP senators to serve as assistant majority leader. She’ll replace Sen. Andre Cushing of Newport, who resigned from the position last month after he was fined by the Maine Ethics Commission for violations of campaign reporting rules.

Through 2016, Volk had a lifetime pro-environment voting score of just 43%, according to Maine Conservation Voters. In 2017, she voted pro-environment on four out of seven bills scored.

In 2014, Volk unseated incumbent Senator Jim Boyle (D), who is now running for governor.
