Tar Sands Rally, Jul 25
Event - Posted - Thursday, July 18, 2013

July 25 marks the third anniversary of the 2010 pipeline spill of more than a million gallons of tar sands oil into the Kalamazoo River in Michigan. The thick, toxic mess killed wildlife, closed businesses, ruined home values, made people sick, and contaminated 40 miles of the river. We can’t let this happen in Maine. Forcing tar sands oil through the 63-year-old pipeline that traverses the Sebago Lake watershed, the drinking water supply for 200,000 Mainers, is just too risky. Join a rally to say “NO” to ExxonMobil’s plans to send tar sands through Maine. At Portland Water District offices, July 25, 6-7:30 pm. ~ Natural Resources Council of Maine
