Trail Guide to East Branch Section of the IAT

Old Fort Western, the 1754 National Historic Landmark fort, store, and house museum on the Kennebec River in downtown Augusta is collaborating with the Viles Arboretum to offer a unique learning experience of living history and nature conservancy – all in one day! This program is for children ages 8-12 who are interested in history and nature. There is still space in the August 6- 10 session.

On July 29 opponents of the proposal to pump dirty tar sands oil from Canada through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine will be marching and rallying in Burlington, Vermont on the occasion of the Northeast Governors and Eastern Province Premieres annual meeting. Sierra Club Maine is organizing a bus for Mainers who wish to participate in the rally.
